Slabs or slabs are monolithic large slabs that are obtained as a result of cutting stone blocks. In other words, this is a 20 or 30 mm thick slab. Any stone can be cut into slabs if it is mined in blocks. Also, it is not only a blank, but also the largest seamless facing material in terms of area.
Material
Our company manufactures slabs from hard rocks, granites of various deposits and colors. Since this material is most often used in exterior works, such unique qualities of granite as strength, moisture and frost resistance, minimal abrasion and durability will become indispensable for the customer.
Invoices
The texture of the surface of the slab can be provided in any way, depending on the purpose and place of installation of the building material. Slabs should be made polished, if they are used for internal stairs or floors, as well as for external cladding of facades and buildings, and a sawn or heat-treated texture should be provided if it is a question of external stairs or squares.
Dimensions and weight
The dimensions of the product depend on the dimensions of the starting material (block), and the thickness depends on what the future building material will be used for. Slabs have uneven, irregular edges, so the manufacturer does not indicate the dimensions, but the dimensions of the useful part of the product. Basically, the slabs are: from 80×60 cm to 330×152 cm, with a standard thickness of 20 mm and 30 mm. It is worth considering that such a large, monolithic product has a solid weight of approximately 1 m2 of a slab of standard thickness: 20 mm – 55 kg, 30 mm – 83 kg. When manufacturing a slab, you can choose any thickness required by the customer.
Application
Slabs are used for external works, such as: decoration of facades, plinths, stairs, barbecue areas, ritual objects, decoration with large-format slabs, covering slabs, etc. In interior decoration, slabs are used to create floors, stairs, window sills, tables, railings, bar counters, fireplaces, etc.
Features
The advantage of this facing material is the great continuous beauty of the natural stone pattern. A solid stone countertop, wall or window sill will be a great decoration for any space. A granite slab, unlike marble or other soft stones, has a much more universal and wider scope of application and better performance indicators.
Production
The slab can be obtained by sawing the block on a special machine. At the next stage of product production, the necessary surface texture is given. A feature of working with slabs is their large size and weight, so special care must be taken during production and transportation.
Packaging
As a rule, slabs are stored and transported using special inclined racks and pallets.
